Cusco – Lima

Due to the time-consuming nature of writing about individual flights (even though the information for the last flights had already been shortened), I decided to provide brief information about the flight in bullet points. I will describe any unusual situation in detail only if it occurs.

Machu Picchu: Legendary Inca city hidden in the mountains, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Location: On a ridge between the Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu mountains, about 75 km northwest of Cusco
History: Built in the 15th century, Machu Picchu remained hidden from the world for a long time; today it is a symbol of Inca civilization and Peruvian identity

Flight progress

Crossing the Andes: The route passes over the highest parts of the Peruvian Andes. From the cockpit, you can see deep valleys, mountain passes, and sometimes even glaciers
Rapid climate change: Within a single hour of flight, the transition occurs from the cold mountain zone to Lima’s humid coastal climate
Turbulence: This section is known for frequent turbulence during climb and descent due to mountain winds

Destination: Lima – coastal metropolis
